It’s been a while since I’ve last updated you in regards to my life, but my schedule hasn’t allowed much room for it. Anyways, life has been crazy busy and I’m loving it. I am taking 16 credits this semester and my classes include corporate finance, marketing, business strategy, supply chain operations, corporate responsibility and ethics, and a career skills class. I love the environment at the university and being here during the election was also quite exciting as the student population tends to stand strong for their beliefs.
Skating has been going well. Slovakia wasn’t perfect for me nor did I attain the results I wanted, but it was a step in the right direction. The combo in the short was a silly mistake and putting the quad out in the long was something that I needed to do to truly evaluate where it stands under pressure. We’ve made a few technical adjustments since then and continue to work on the quad technique. I also got a new long program, choreographed by Sebastien Britten to “In Your Eyes” by Peter Gabriel. I will be debuting it at Sectionals. One other major change that I have made is that Page Lipe will now be my head coach. Tom has been an incredible coach and mentor, but logistically it makes more sense to have Page oversee all my training as she works with me on a daily basis. Tom and his wife Catarina will both remain involved with my career, but on a more as needed basis/consultant role. They’ve truly shaped who I am as a person and a skater and will remain a vital part of my team.
That’s it for now!
