Thank you for visiting our official Web site, Marissa Castelli and Simon Shnapir Online.

In our first season together, we qualified for the 2007 U.S. Championships, where we were 10th in novice pairs. We made our international debut in fall 2007 and then won our first national medal in 2008 as novices.

After winning the bronze medal at the 2009 World Junior Championships, we made our senior debut on the international and national level, placing seventh at 2009 Trophee Eric Bompard, 10th at the 2010 U.S. Championships and 10th at Four Continents.

Following consecutive fifth place finishes at the U.S. Championships in 2011 and 2012, we resolved to re-dedicate ourselves to our partnership and had a breakout season in 2012-13. After placing fifth at Skate America in October 2012, we won our first senior international gold medal at Ice Challenge in Graz, Austria, followed by our first Senior Grand Prix medal (bronze), at NHK Trophy in Miyagi, Japan.

On Jan. 26, 2013, we won the gold medal at the 2013 U.S. Championships, marking our first senior medal at nationals. We finished our season by winning the bronze medal at the Four Continents Championships and placing 13th at our first World Championships. We’re excited to take these experiences, continue improving and working toward achieving our goals in the 2013-14 Olympic season!

On January 11, 2014, we successfully defended our U.S. national title in front of an amazingly supportive hometown audience in Boston, Massachusetts, and were nominated the next day to the 2014 U.S. Olympic team going to Sochi, Russia! Simon was born in Moscow, Russia, and is fluent in Russian, and the Sochi Olympics would be our first-ever competition in Russia. We competed both our short program and free skate during the first-ever Olympic figure skating team event. On February 9, 2014, we won the Olympic team bronze medal together with our USA teammates.  On February 11 and 12, we competed in the individual pairs event and set three new ISU personal and season best scores, finishing in 9th place.  We concluded our season on March 27 by placing 11th at the World Championships in Saitama, Japan. On May 7, we announced the end of our partnership.

Thank you so much for all of your support over the years.
