Senior International Debut

Ciao everyone!! Recently I went to Milan, Italy to compete at my first senior international competition. It was an unreal experience! I arrived Thursday, the 17th of September, and went home Monday, the 22nd. It was a relatively short trip but it was jam packed with fun events. I roomed with Haven Denney and the other members of the team were Brandon Frazier, Richard Dornbush, Grant Hochstein, and Angela Wang. I had my first practice on Friday and I quickly noticed the rink felt short. I had to alter some of my jump set ups but I quickly got settled in. On Saturday I competed my short program. I fell on my triple flip and did a triple-double combination instead of a triple-triple. I ended up in 7th. Sunday was the long program. I was determined and felt very confident. I skated well and got my all time best score. I pulled up to 2nd place! My teammate, Angela Wang, got third. We were very excited to represent Team USA on the podium. Besides skating I got to see some of the sights of Milan. The Duomo was in the center of the city and was gorgeous. It was also fashion week so they had one of the streets carpeted with a bunch of booths and huge TVs. After I competed I ate a huge pizza and got gelato with Angela! Taking a bite of the gelato after our long programs was heaven! Overall Milan was a success and a lot of fun! I couldn’t have asked for a better trip. image
