Hi Everyone. Thanks for visiting the website. It means a lot to me to have people come to the website and check up on me and see whats new, so thank you.
I haven't written since July, and since then, a lot has been happening for me. First of all, I am back on the ice. I actually got back on on August 5th. It felt so strange to be skating again. I slowly started to try more and more things, with permission from Dr. Kruse of course, and within four weeks I had all my triples back. I am actually jumping stronger than ever right now, and I think anytime now I will have my quad back. I am delaying work on that until I'm in tip top shape so I don't injure myself again. I am also working on new spin combinations, and positions which I think will add some more excitement to my programs this season.
I finished choreography on my long program in late August. I worked with Anjelika Krylova with artistic direction by Giuseppe Arena. The program, I think, is the best yet for me. The music is "Dr. Zhivago" by Maurica Jarre. I get to play the character of a young Dr. Zhivago, which suits me very well. The program goes through various stages of the life of Dr. Zhivago. The basic message is longing to be with my beloved.
I just finished my short program two weeks ago, late September, with my choreographer Michele Poley. Michele is a great young woman from Philadelphia, who was a skater herself, and has brought a lot of life to my skating. Michele having been an ice dancer, there is a lot of dance inspired footwork in the short program. The music is from Cirque du Soleil's Quidam, the tracks are "Innocence" and "Zydeko". In the program I play a very stormy character in the beginning, who slowly lightens up and goes to a party. That's how I see it anyway. To get myself into the "Cirque" feeling, I went to see their new production "Varekai" in Philadelphia. It was amazing, and I have new inspiration for the music.
Outside of skating a lot has been going on too. I started college at the beginning of September. I am taking one course, Russian. I find it very difficult and taxing on my mind, but I do love it. Now I will be able to communicate with people in and from Russia (atleast a little bit).
What else? Oh, I now split my training time betweem two facilities, The University of Delaware FSC and The Pond Ice Arena across town. I skate at the university in the morning when the sessions aren't unbearably crowded, and in the afternoon I have almost vacant ice to skate on at the Pond. The Pond has been a great resource for me, especially with the less than perfect conditions at the university.
Other than that, life is good. I am having a great time trying to get ready for Cup of Russia and NHK Trophy. I think everyone will be impressed with my new choreography this season.
Before I go, I'd like to add a congratulations to my webmaster, Jenny, she recently had her first baby. So, congratulations, Jenny!
Thank you guys for visiting!
