World Championships 2009

PART I

Hello little skaters.

So I'm sitting on the plane right now … and I thought I’d tell a little about my check in process. This was the first time I had used a ZUCA to travel with on the flight. It was so cool! I got to put all my necessities in the little compartments and it makes it so easy to find everything!

Also, in JFK airport there is a terminal that is far away so you have to take a bus to it. Everyone had to stand cause there are no seats in the shuttle but I got to sit cause I had my ZUCA!! The other great things is that it wasn't super heavy. I hate when my bags are crazy heavy and I have to carry them. The zuca didn't feel that heavy. Plus I didn't have to carry cause I could wheel it everywhere.

Let's see. I guess I could tell you what I have in my zuca.

Since I am only going for a short trip, I tried to pack wisely but I have a hard time doing that. I like to have my prize possessions on the flight with me — any medicine, cosmetics, etc., always come on the plane. I also take a change of clothes and of course the electronics like my cell phone, iPod, portable DVD player. I have a new movie coming out about me and I am going to watch the unedited version in the plane!

OK, it's time to take a nap. I will tell you about my trip to LA with my zuca more when I arrive.

Love,

Johnny

Part II

So I had the greatest day! I've been trekking from the official hotel at Worlds to the Staples center all day. I had an autograph signing in the morning (where I signed zuca post cards) and actually sat on my zuca at the table! And then I came back to the hotel to rest. Then I went back to the Staples Center to do my interview on the Oxygen network during the ladies Short program.

It was so great to have my Zuca with me so I could wheel my stuff back and forth. My friend Rachael Flatt came in 5th which is amazing considering she is only 16 and it was her first worlds!

I wore a very casual outfit in the morning and brought my dressier outfit with me in the afternoon for interview on Oxygen – thanks to the zuca – I folded it nicely, it fit in perfectly and it didn't get wrinkled!

Best,

JW

Part III

So I'm on the flight now already going back to NY. I can’t believe it – what a fast trip – all made a lot easier and more fun by having my Zuca.

There was a line at the gate while I was getting on the plane and they were asking if anyone wanted to give in their ticket in exchange for a free round trip anywhere in the states. The flight was totally packed!

Anyway, I'm telling you this because every seat at the gate was taken and the flight was delayed so there was a lot of waiting. But guess what? I had my own seat – my zuca!

Oh, something else I forgot to mention. The greatest thing about that flat top is that when you are rolling it – if you put another back on top if it – it stays! Have you ever tried to attach an extra bag on top of a rolly bag? It flips around and falls and then you trip over yourself (OK – maybe I'm a clutz!). But anyway, that flat surface totally makes it so that you can put another bag on the zuca. It stays in place while you roll it.

I'm psyched I had my zuca for the trip and very excited to take it with me to Korea and Russia in a few weeks!

All my best,

Johnny
