Hi everyone,

As most of you already know I made a coaching change last month from Mary and Evy Scotvold to Mark Mitchell and Peter Johansson.

After weighing all my options I decided on Mark Mitchell and Peter Johansson, who are from The Skating Club of Boston. SCOB has been my home club since I was nine. Mark and Peter had all the right answers regarding my concerns and were very positive about the future.

Mark and Peter went right to work with me about next season. The first thing they did was to contact Lori Nichol to do my programs and she agreed. I am so thrilled that Lori Nichol will be doing my programs for the upcoming year! Mark and Peter are very positive, but Peter told me that we're still on our honeymoon and things will get tough, so I have to work hard toward my goals.

Changing coaches was the hardest decision I have ever had to make. You have all these thoughts - "What if it doesn't work out with my new coaches?” “Am I doing the right thing?” It's very scary when you are leaving the coaches who have taught you everything you know. I am very grateful to the Scotvolds for that. I have always pictured myself going to the Olympics with Mary and Evy at my side. I'm going to miss them and all my friends at Tony Kent Arena. (Although, I won't miss the 3- hour, 160-mile drive to the Cape everyday.) For me it was a matter of growing and preparing for the future.

School was also a big factor in my decision. I want to take some classes this summer so I can finish my last year of high school in January. Training in Boston will give me the opportunity to work harder on all the things I need to improve on.

I am working toward having a strong year. All my jumps are solid. I know with the team I have in place now I will have a great year. Mark, Peter and Lori will get me what I was missing, with a lot of hard work on my part.

I will let you know what my music is as soon as I find out and how things are going over the summer.

Love, Louann
