With an Olympic gold medal already to his credit, Evan Lysacek now has his sights set on the Mirror Ball Trophy. Lysacek, who won the top prize at the 2010 Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver, Canada, has joined the cast of ABC’s Dancing with the Stars for its 10th season, premiering March 22.
Lysacek is slated to perform with the nationwide Stars on Ice tour, although the Dancing with the Stars competitions are filmed on Monday nights in Los Angeles and the results shows are scheduled for Tuesdays.

The 2010 Olympic Winter Games are Feb. 12-28, in Vancouver, Canada. Skating starts Feb. 14 with the pairs short. Team USA includes Jeremy Abbott, Caydee Denney and Jeremy Barrett, Rachael Flatt, Evan Lysacek, Mirai Nagasu and Johnny Weir.
The nation’s top skaters will compete for a spot on the U.S. Olympic team at the 2010 U.S. Championships, Jan. 14-24, 2010, in Spokane, Wash. The men and pairs compete Jan. 15-17 and the ladies and ice dancers compete Jan. 21-23.

Earlier this week, Ashley Wagner withdrew from the 2010 ISU World Junior Championships in The Hague, Netherlands. The current U.S. bronze medalist is not injured and will continue training for the senior World Championships in Torino, Italy.
While her coach, Priscilla Hill, was at the Olympics in Vancouver with Austrian men’s champion Viktor Pfeifer, Wagner was continued training at home. As the U.S. bronze medalist, Wagner is the first alternate if U.S. Champion Rachael Flatt or silver medalist Mirai Nagasu is unable to compete at Worlds.
An immaculate Olympic medal streak ended for the American ladies on Thursday at the 2010 Olympic Winter Games. For the first time since Peggy Fleming won gold in 1968, the U.S. ladies failed to capture a medal, unable to overcome South Korea’s Yu-Na Kim, Japan’s Mao Asada and Canada’s Joannie Rochette.
But it was not for a lack of effort. Mirai Nagasu, the 2008 U.S. Champion who placed second this year, finished in fourth place with a personal best 190.15. The U.S. Champion Rachael Flatt finished seventh with a personal best 182.49 points.
