Brittney Rizo opts out of Olympic season

Brittney Rizo was shocked when the ladies short program competition ended at the 2009 U.S. Championships in Cleveland, Ohio. A relative unknown making her senior debut, she placed fourth in the short, ahead of both national champions and World Championship team members. Rizo handed another surprise to the skating community when she announced she would forgo elite level skating in the Olympic season to focus on her studies at Northeastern University.

'Skate for Life' planned for June 27

Parker Pennington has a colorful resume that includes three national championships. But the accomplishment that he is most proud of is organizing the Skate for Life show, which raised $21,000 for the Muscular Dystrophy Association last year. He hosts the show again on June 27 in Stronsville, Ohio.
