Junior Grand Prix Finalist Angela Maxwell is proud to open her official Web site at www.figureskatersonline.com/angelamaxwell/.
Maxwell started her season by winning silver medals at the Junior Grand Prix events in Budapest, Hungary and Dresden, Germany. With the two medals, she ensured a trip to the Junior Grand Prix Final, Dec. 3-6, in Tokyo, Japan.
“I’m super happy to make it to the Junior Grand Prix Final in Tokyo,” Maxwell said in the first journal entry she wrote for her Web site. “Because of the Final, I will finally meet my grandmother and see my mom’s homeland — Japan.”
Maxwell qualified for the Final last season, finishing fifth in Goyang City, Korea. She preceded that competition with a silver medal in the Czech Republic and a bronze in Great Britain.
In her senior debut at the 2009 U.S. Championship, she placed eighth. She will compete for the second time as a senior lady at the 2010 U.S. Championships, Jan. 14-24, in Spokane, Wash.
Maxwell, originally from Hurst, Texas, represents the Skating Club of New York. She currently trains in Hackensack, N.J., with coaches Craig Maurizi and Olga Orlova. Orlova also choreographs Maxwell’s programs.
