Rachael Flatt selects Stanford University

Rachael Flatt is the real deal when it comes to student athletes. The 2010 U.S. Champion will enter Stanford University in fall 2011, a year after graduating Summa Cum Laude from Cheyenne Mountain High School in Colorado Springs, Colo.

Danny Curzon retires from competitive skating

Danny Curzon, a bronze medalist in the junior pairs event at the 2008 U.S. Championships, has announced his retirement from competitive skating. In his three year partnership with Chelsi Guillen, the couple competed on both the Grand Prix circuit and the Junior Grand Prix circuit as well as at the 2008 World Junior Championships, where they placed 10th. Guillen and Curzon ended their partnership in 2009 following her knee reconstruction surgery in which the surgeon replaced her completely torn posterior cruciate ligament (PCL).

Evening with Champions celebrates 40 years

On April 16-17, more than 50 skaters including 2009 U.S. Junior Men’s Champion Ross Miner and 2009 World Junior Championship bronze medalists Marissa Castelli and Simon Shnapir joined together in the fight against pediatric cancer. This year’s Evening with Champions celebrated the non-profit organization’s 40th anniversary.

Rachael Flatt excited to meet President, First Lady

The 2010 Olympic and Paralympic athletes of Team USA have received an invitation to visit the White House by President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama, and they will have the honor of meeting the first couple on Wednesday, April 21. Nearly 225 of the total 264 Vancouver Olympic and Paralympic athletes will visit the nation’s capital where they will come together for one last time to celebrate their great achievements.

Olympians to visit U.S. capital
