Jahnke’s ‘What’s So Great about Figure Skating?’

Skaters, parents, coaches and fans are all encouraged to make short videos of themselves answering the question: “What’s so great about figure skating?” These clips will be assembled to create a video that will serve as encouragement to skaters and their parents, and will let potential new skaters know what is so great about this sport.

Czisny restores career with Grand Prix Final gold

Less than a year after contemplating retirement, Alissa Czisny is the Grand Prix Final Champion. She claimed the gold medal Saturday in Beijing, China, becoming only the third American woman to win the event since its inception in 1997.

Richard Dornbush claims gold at Junior Grand Prix Final

Richard Dornbush finished first in the short program and free skate to win the men’s event at the Junior Grand Prix Final in Beijing, China, taking the gold medal over China’s Han Yan (186.05 points) and Canada’s Andrei Rogozin (181.78). Dornbush received personal best marks in the short (70.75) and free (148.81) for 219.59 points overall.

Czisny first, Flatt sixth after Grand Prix Final short

Former U.S. Champion Alissa Czisny is won the short program at the Grand Prix Final in Beijing, China, on Friday with Italian Carolina Kostner (62.13 points) and Japan’s Kanako Murakami (61.47) finishing second and third. All three competitors got a new seasons best score, led by Czisny’s personal best score of 63.76.
