Contests

Figure Skaters Online contests give visitors the chance to win prizes while surfing through the nearly twenty FSO athlete pages. Many of the contests focus on answering trivia questions and solving puzzles. Others have been more creative, asking for computer generated art of athletes.

In the 2008-9 season, FSO held more than 30 contests, including one during each of the Grand Prix events, the U.S. Championships, the Four Continents Championships, the World Junior Championships, the World Championships and the World Team Trophy. A contest held during Thanksgiving yielded over 100 entrants.

During 2008 Skate America, fans had to hunt for a hidden link on Johnny Weir’s Web site to win an autographed photo of Weir donated by Riedell Skates. For the 2008 Cup of China contest, fans were asked to solve two word scrambles involving Jeremy Abbott‘s costume designer and Ashley Wagner‘s coach, to receive autographed photos of the two athletes.

Winners of previous contests have received Champions on Ice post show passes to meet the FSO skaters who participated in the summer tour. Other contest prizes included subscriptions to skating magazines and other skating memorabilia like signed magazine covers and autographed skates.

Stay tuned to the contest page throughout the season for your opportunity to win prizes. Throughout the coming months, FSO will also offer exclusive contests to our fans on Facebook and followers on Twitter, so check out the FSO pages for more opportunities to win.
