What is Synchronized Skating? Synchronized Skating often called synchro, is where between 8 and 20 ice skaters perform together as a team. Formed in 1956 by Dr. Richard Porter, the sport was known as “precision skating” for the intricate moves skaters perform on the ice together. The first World Synchronized Skating Championships in 2000.
