At age 25, Bell was the oldest U.S. women&#8217;s figure skating champion in 95 years. This season, Bell finished 4th and 6th at her two Grand Prix events. She won gold at Skate America in 2020. This will be her first Olympic games.<\/p>\n<p>Chen, who claimed the silver medal Friday, will be returning to the Olympic Games, after her 11th place finish in 2018. Last season, Chen finished 4th at the 2021 World Championships, putting Team USA in a position to claim three spots for the Olympic Games. Chen finished 5th and 10th at her two Grand Prix events this season.<\/p>\n<p>Despite being forced to withdraw due to a positive COVID-19 test, U.S. Figure Skating named Liu to the team. After obtaining the third Olympic spot for Team USA ladies by winning Nebelhorn Trophy, the two-time U.S. champion competed in her first senior Grand Prix season, finishing in 4th and 5th place at her events.<\/p>\n<p>Alternates for the 2022 Olympic Team are Lindsay Thorngren, Amber Glenn and Gabriella Izzo.<\/p>\n<p>The 2022 Olympic Winter Games are scheduled to take place Feb. 4-20, in Beijing, China.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">U.S. Figure Skating also announced its ladies selections to the 2022 ISU World Figure Skating Championships scheduled for Montpellier, France, March 21-27; the ISU Four Continents Figure Skating Championships scheduled for Tallinn, Estonia, Jan. 18-23.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">U.S. Figure Skating will announce its selections for 2022 ISU World Junior Figure Skating Championships scheduled for Sofia, Bulgaria, March 7-13 on February 1.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><b>2022 World Championships<\/b><br \/>\nMariah Bell<br \/>\nKaren Chen<br \/>\nAlysa Liu<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Alternate 1 \u2013 Amber Glenn<br \/>\nAlternate 2 \u2013 Lindsay Thorngren<br \/>\nAlternate 3 \u2013 Gabriella Izzo<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><b>2022 Four Continents Championships<\/b><br \/>\nStarr Andrews<br \/>\nGabriella Izzo<br \/>\nAudrey Shin<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Alternate 1 \u2013 Hanna Harrell<br \/>\nAlternate 2 \u2013 Sierra Venetta<\/p>\n<p>U.S. Figure Skating will announce its men\u2019s, pairs&#8217; and ice dance athletes selected to compete at the Olympic Winter Games, along with the United States\u2019 World, World Junior and Four<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>Continents teams for those disciplines on Sunday, January 9.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>NASHVILLE, TN &#8212; U.S. Figure Skating announced that Mariah Bell, Karen Chen, and Alysa Liu will represent Team USA at the 2022 Olympic Winter Games in Beijing, China next month.
