With the new season only weeks away, 2010 Grand Prix Final Champion Alissa Czisny launched a redesigned website at www.figureskatersonline.com/alissaczisny/ with new features, including an enhanced blog. Czisny has had an official website, in cooperation with Figure Skaters Online, since 2005.
Czisny is a two-time U.S. Champion, most recently claiming the title at the 2011 U.S. Championships in Greensboro, N.C. Last season, she won the gold at Skate Canada, bronze at Trophee Eric Bompard and gold at the Grand Prix Final, becoming the first American lady since Sasha Cohen (2002) to win that competition. She was fifth at the 2011 Four Continents Championships and the World Championships.
Other accolades include medals at 2009 Skate Canada (silver), 2008 Skate Canada (third), 2005 Skate Canada (gold) and 2005 Skate America (silver). She made her senior debut in the 2001-02 season after winning silver in the junior ladies competition at the 2001 U.S. Championships.
She competes next Oct. 21-23 at Skate America in Ontario, Calif., and Nov. 18-20 at Trophee Eric Bompard in Paris, France. Czisny will also perform Sept. 24 at Fashion on Ice in Hoffman Estates, Ill., and Dec. 15 at Improv Ice in Greenville, S.C.
A native of Bowling Green, Ohio, Czisny trains at the Detroit Skating Club in Bloomfield Hills, Mich. She is coached by Yuka Sato and Jason Dungjen, ending her 12-year relationship with coach Julianne Berlin in February 2010.
