Figure Skaters Online is excited to welcome 2020 U.S. junior silver medalists Anastasiia Smirnova and Danil Siianytsia with the launch of their official website. Smirnova and Siianytsia will compete in the junior pairs event at the 2021 U.S. Championships Jan. 20-21 in Las Vegas.
In addition to their silver medal last season, Smirnova and Siianytsia competed at the 2020 World Junior Championships, where they finished in 10th place. They had intended on competing on the junior international circuit and compete at the 2020-2021 ISU Junior Grand Prix Series, but the seven competitions, along with the Junior Grand Prix Final, were cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Smirnova and Siianytsia competed in the virtual U.S. Figure Skating’s Championship Series (the qualifier for the U.S. Championships) and the virtual International Selection Pool Points Challenge, and finished in first place in both events.
The team is coached by Trudy Oltmanns and train in Minnesota.
