U.S. Figure Skating announces its 2022 Men’s Olympic figure skating team

NASHVILLE, TN — U.S. Figure Skating announced that Nathan Chen, Vincent Zhou and Jason Brown will represent Team USA at the 2022 Olympic Winter Games in Beijing, China next month.

Chen, who is the three-time World champion, just won his sixth U.S. title in Nashville, Tennessee Jan. 9., with Zhou finishing in third place and Brown finishing in fourth place.

This fall, all three men won medals at their two Grand Prix events this season and qualified for the Grand Prix Final, which was subsequently cancelled in December due to travel restrictions with the COVID-19 pandemic. All three men have previously competed at the Olympics — with Chen and Zhou competing at the 2018 Games, and Brown competed at the Olympics in 2014. Chen and Brown also won bronze medals at the team events in their respective Olympics.

Alternates for the 2022 Olympic Team are Ilia Malinin (first alternate), Camden Pulkinen (second alternate) and Jimmy Ma (third alternate).

The 2022 Olympic Winter Games are scheduled to take place Feb. 4-20, in Beijing, China.

U.S. Figure Skating also announced its men’s selections to the 2022 ISU World Figure Skating Championships scheduled for Montpellier, France, March 21-27 and the ISU Four Continents Figure Skating Championships scheduled for Tallinn, Estonia, Jan. 18-23.

Selections for 2022 ISU World Junior Figure Skating Championships scheduled for Sofia, Bulgaria, March 7-13 will be named on Feb. 1.
